Mental Forest grew from my belief that mental health should be something we can talk about openly, without stigma or fear. This project isn’t just about anxiety, even though my own experiences with it have shaped the design. Instead, it’s about using creative health methods — play, metaphor, and storytelling — to make mental health conversations feel natural, accessible, and even enjoyable. By creating a board game that is both playful and reflective, I hope to show that mental health is part of everyday life, and that talking about it can feel as normal as sitting down for a game with friends.

"Every thought is a path, every challenge a choice — can you navigate your own mind?"
It seems the Goblin King has trapped you in a maze of your own making — a twisting landscape built from fears, doubts, and half-remembered thoughts. To escape, you must venture deep into the terrain of your mind, where every path offers both challenge and discovery. Along the way you’ll face your inner goblins — those nagging voices and hidden obstacles that hold you back.
But you are not powerless. As you journey, you’ll uncover hidden abilities — strengths disguised as struggles — and learn how to wield them to your advantage. With each battle, you grow wiser; with each step, you gather the pieces of yourself that have been scattered.

Your goal is to collect all six tokens of the missing key. Only by assembling them can you unlock the final gate, confront the Goblin King and find a new path on the other side.

This is not just a quest to leave the maze — it’s a journey of resilience, self-discovery, and reclaiming your story.

To start, all players must place their character pieces on the start square. Then each player takes turns rolling both dice in order to move around on the board. There is no set path, you may chose any squares provided as long as you don’t move backwards. This can only be changed if a card is drawn telling you to move otherwise.
The first player to collect all 6 tokens/pieces and complete their key wins the game. However, players can chose to continue until everyone has collected all of the tokens.
